1. What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before?

Asked a boy out
Came out to my parents

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

Last year I didn't formally make any. I think this year I'm going to resolve to get in shape, and join roller derby.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

Nope.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

yerpretty, a coworker, my mom's neighbor

5. What countries did you visit?

None other than the U.S.

6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?

Perhaps a healthy relationship, but also a house of my own.

7. What date from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

July 25 -- my sister's wedding.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Getting myself set up for a promotion this year.

9. What was your biggest failure?

A misstep in a relationship.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

I am the great and wonderful 29 year old menopausal woman.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

pearl/silver ring at Winterfair

my friends

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

the entire executive branch of the US government and most of the rest of it too.

14. Where did most of your money go?

Living expenses, debt and yarn.

Knitting, and knitting, and knitting

iii. richer or poorer? Debateable. Not making any more, but I'm a little less in debt.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

Hanging out with yerpretty, yoga.

Moping this summer.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?

Spent it with the family.

No, but I think we know I'm crushing pretty hard.

Yes.

Arrested Development!!!!

My friends' B & J's house.

B, J, other J, some random other people.

27. Where will you be when 2005 ends?

I don't know yet. Probably either at Mac's or Studio 35, depending on who I tag along with.

Either L. and crew, or B & J.

29. What was the best book you read?

I didn't read a lot this year, but I did like The Kite Runner, and Updike's A Widow for One Year.

30. What was your greatest musical discovery?

Not a discovery, but I just want to admit publicly that I have decided I do like The White Stripes. yerpretty would be so disappointed in me.

31. What did you want and get?

A win at the state fair, a change of living scenery.

32. What did you want and not get?

A stable relationship. Of course, I just recently admitted I wanted this.

33. What was your favorite film of this year?

I didn't see hardly any. I liked Happy Endings a lot though.

34. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

I turned 28. I was fighting with my best friend, and went to Betty's with the rest of the crew.

35. How many different states did you travel to in 2005?

Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania, West Virginia (OK, drove through a couple times) New York, Massachusetts, so 6.

36. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005?

Bohemian Chic. Knitted everything. Tshirts and scarves. Weird hats.

37. What kept you sane?

Knitting, and all my friends.

38. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

the entire cast of arrested development, especially Will Arnett

39. What political issue stirred you the most?

I was decidedly apathetic this year overall. So while a lot of things stirred my passions, not many stirred me into action, sadly.

I have no idea, so I'll try to list in no order:

I think that's really it. Wow. I know I missed Rasputina and Melissa Ferrick because I was worn out, but mostly, not a lot of good stuff came to Columbus this year.

Neko Case, definitely

the Stitch n' Bitchers!!

43. Did you do anything you are ashamed of this year?

in general, I am pissed off that I let my own doldrums and depression impact several relationships last summer.

44. What was your most embarrassing moment of 2005?

I don't know.

45. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005:

I think it finally hit home that nothing will come to you if you don't do something to spur it on.

46. What are your plans for 2006?

Travel to Kripalu again, do something fabulous for my 30th birthday, kiss the BMB (even if that's as far as it goes), win at the state fair again, get myself in shape again, finish my master knitter certification packet.
