Thought I'd do this because I'm a bit brain dead today. I've been a bit of an insomniac this week.

1. Coldplay
2. Tori Amos
3. Ani Difranco
4. Rufus Wainwright
5. Beth Orton
6. Interpol
7. Juliana Hatfield
8. The White Stripes (I feel a distinct need to apologize to the memory of [livejournal.com profile] yerpretty every time I admit this.)
9. Lucinda Hatfield
10. Interpol

What was the first song you ever heard by 6?

Um..."PDA" I think

What is your favorite album of 8?

That's hard because I don't actually own any. They've been a strictly iTunes band for me. I appear to have the most songs from "Get Behind Me Satan" though.

What is your favorite lyric that 5 has sung?

Cut beneath the surface screen of what we say and what we
seem, Is a trick to be seen, She keeps crying out your name,
But her scream sound the same, How fickle fate can be.

She cries your name,
Three times the pain,
She cries your name,
How long can this love remain.

How many times have you seen 4 live?

Twice I think. Once indoors at Promowest, and once outdoors there with Ben Folds.

What's your favorite song of 7?

"My Sister" hands down.

What is a good memory you have considering the music of 10?

That's a hard one. "Evil" is one of my favorite driving songs when I'm on the freeway. [livejournal.com profile] automat76 and I sang it a few weeks ago when we were a bit drunk too. She played it on guitar and I sang it badly.

Is there a song of 3 that makes you sad?

Several, but mostly "Both Hands" in a very wistful way. Which makes me so mad because whenever she plays it it turns into singalong time.

What is your favorite lyric that 2 has sung?

I'm picking two here:

They keep the boys spinning in their own little world.
Tie him up so he won't say a word.
They keep the boys spinning in their own little world.
So afraid he'll be what they never where.

That's "Flying Dutchman" This one is from "Taxi Ride":

lily is dancing on the table
we've all been pushed too far today
even a glamorous bitch can be in need
this is where you know the honey
from the killer bees
i'm glad you're on my side
sure i'm glad you're on my side
sure i'm glad you're on my side still

What is your favorite song by 9?

"Real Live Bleeding Fingers and Broken Guitar Strings"

How did you get into 3?

I had a friend who mentioned her name to me, and then several years later, right when the e-commerce boom started, I was buying CDs online and picked up her first one, and her latest at the time, "Dilate." I was hooked.

What was the first song you heard by 1?

"Yellow" I think. An ex-boyfriend put it on a mixtape for me.

What is your favorite song by 4?

"Oh What a World" or "The Death of the Matinee Idol"

How many time have you seen 9 live?

Three, I think. At least twice at Promowest, and opening for Neil Young at Polaris when someone at work gave me their tickets because they had a conflict.

What is a good memory you have concerning 2?

Meeting her at CD101 in the Big Room as a result of writing a very short story in a very short amount of time.

Is there a song of 8 that makes you sad?

Not that I can think of of the top of my head.

What is your favorite lyric that 3 has sung?

"Lost Woman Song" (The whole song is awesome, but here's the end part):

Lucille, your voice still sounds in me
mine was a relatively easy tragedy
now the profile of our country
looks a little less hard nosed
but that picket line persisted
and that clinic's since been closed
they keep pounding their fists on reality
hoping it will break
but I don't think there's a one of us
leads a life free of mistakes
