Jan. 15th, 2004 11:20 amGot my hair cut last night - finally. I like the result (long layers, so I no longer have the heavy, Joey Ramone-esque mane) but the girl who did it...well, I'm not sure I'll go back to her. I went to a new salon, and while not expensive at all, it was an Aveda Concept salon, and they had their whole spiel. There was a massage involved, which was cool, but it was in general too froofy for my tastes. Plus, the girl doing my hair had a very odd manner. She kept trying to initiate conversation by asking me questions, then I would answer them, and she'd have no real response. So it felt more like interrogation than conversation. Plus, she asked me a few questions that seemed she was generally interested, or going to impart some great hair knowledge, but that went nowhere either. Hmmph. I may go back to the old hairdresser, pricy or not.
I did take some photos of the cut last night, so I will maybe post those tonight. I just wasn't in the mood for cropping last night.
This sickness must end. I've noticed a lot of people on my friends list have mentioned basically the same symptoms I have. I'll tell you all what my boss told me a few days ago: "It will be another week or so before you stop coughing stuff up." Lovely.
It seems to take about 3 weeks to get through. I'm on week 2 now. I was feeling pretty spiffy early this week, and even went out for a drink Tuesday night, but felt the relapse pretty strongly after that. Yesterday I got the pleasure of this plague, plus a migraine. I didn't want to take the Imitrex, because I didn't think a nasal spray would be very effective given the congestion, and I wasn't sure I wanted to tax my system with a pill, given how many other meds I've been on for two weeks. But, it was gone when I woke up this morning. That's a first!
This week is nuts here at work. To the point where people are actually chuckling as they give me stuff, because they know there's no way I can get it all done. So far, I've been plugging along pretty well, but I forgot we have Monday off, so I'm not sure about getting all my Tuesday deadline stuff. I may just have to work at home. I have a hard time making myself do that though.
Ever since I supposedly started the South Beach thingee (I don't like calling it a diet, because it's really just healthy eating) I have had uncontrollable chocolate cravings. I'm not sure how well this is going to work. We'll see.
Must run to lunch so I can get back in time for the afternoon mockup critique. Fun.
