Shaking update
Feb. 24th, 2004 12:36 amThe shaking of the building I reported earlier (and that I experienced again this weekend) is apparently not an earthquake, but has been explained by "cleaning in the basement." The reason that theory does not make me feel any more secure is that we are on the eighth floor, and the "basement" is the bottom of the parking garage, 3 stories underground. With the weird mezzanine levels and such, that means the source of the shaking was inside the building, 12 floors down from us, and yet my monitor was practically bouncing on my desk.

Date: 2004-02-24 01:23 pm (UTC)And they've told us this is normal for steel frame buildings. I have a friend who is an architect (even works at the firm who put this up) so I plan on asking him.
