Another thing I keep seeing in various places: women apologizing to "guys" for any mention of menstrual products. I'm not talking about in depth discussions of gushing blood, which should probably be cut in the interest of protecting the squeamish of both genders, but rather someone uses a phrase such as "She asked me for a tampon", then says "sorry guys -- lol."

If said guys are that offended, I don't understand how they can watch television or walk into a grocery store, so I think their problems are larger than we can handle here.

Yeah, the quiet wrapper thing is unreal!!! Who on earth sits in a bathroom listening to what other people are doing??

That reminds me--I've seen a tampon commercial that actually doesn't bug me as much as most of them lately. It's got a teacher asking a girl to bring up what he thinks is a note to the front of the class. She hands him the tampon and he, thinking it's candy (that's the crap part--it's "small" and "unnoticeable") asks her if she has enough for everyone in the class. I like it because the girl herself is very confident the whole time, which I think would have been a good example for me at that age!
