Another thing I keep seeing in various places: women apologizing to "guys" for any mention of menstrual products. I'm not talking about in depth discussions of gushing blood, which should probably be cut in the interest of protecting the squeamish of both genders, but rather someone uses a phrase such as "She asked me for a tampon", then says "sorry guys -- lol."

If said guys are that offended, I don't understand how they can watch television or walk into a grocery store, so I think their problems are larger than we can handle here.

Ugh, I hate that. As much as I hate the commercials for "quiet" wrappers. It's a fact of life! It's nothing to be embarrassed about! Sheesh.

I only apologize after I've described menstrual effluvia in great detail, without a cut or warning. Tampons, though? piffle.

When I am Queen, any guy who has trouble with the word "tampon" will not be allowed near women. I mean, after all, if anything even remotely related to menstruation is that yucky, why this just protects those poor put-upon guys. It's for their benefit. Really.

I remember reading somewhere, the idea that if men had periods, they'd brag about how much blood they passed, and "tough" it all was, and any supporting products would be loudly displayed. ;^)
