Another thing I keep seeing in various places: women apologizing to "guys" for any mention of menstrual products. I'm not talking about in depth discussions of gushing blood, which should probably be cut in the interest of protecting the squeamish of both genders, but rather someone uses a phrase such as "She asked me for a tampon", then says "sorry guys -- lol."

If said guys are that offended, I don't understand how they can watch television or walk into a grocery store, so I think their problems are larger than we can handle here.

I have always loved the word "effluvia" ever since a friend of mine got into grad school with a paper about sexual effluvia in Tess of the D'ubervilles.
