This weekend flew by, with no real accomplishments!

Friday: )

Saturday: )

Sunday: )

I got a call (which I didn't answer, because I was afraid it was work) from a girl I went to high school with. Her birthday is this week and she was calling to invite me to go to a bar with some people. I haven't hung out with her in a long time (as in, since we were in 4-H together), except for running into her at concerts or at Skully's in the past couple years. I don't dislike her, but I'm not sure it would be the most fun ever. I do have other plans already (to go see The Company--it's finally playing here!), so I'm not going to be able to go anyway.

I have incredibly stiff wrists this morning. I didn't knit all that much this weekend, so I can only assume it's from the dart playing. There's a slight bit of swelling, so out came the Vioxx. And now I'm feeling dizzy.

Now it's time for a meeting. So we'll end this pointless update now. :-)

I am continually amazed at the "wisdom" that comes over the cube wall from the two guys next to me. Usually it's in the form of misguided math, but today it fell into the category of biology. They are, from what I gather, looking at a photo of a hairy cat (or dog, I can't determine):

"It looks like an Ewok. Or no, like an owl. But that's a leg. And owls don't have legs."

Um....yeah. Dude.

This time from Saturday night, at Martini. There was a group of high school kids in prom-like garb (though it seems awfully early for prom.) One of the girls was wearing a colorblocked dress, very 80s throwback, in white, black and hot pink. I would have adored this dress at her age, and it was perfect on her. I was about to compliment her on it when her friend returned and said the following (in a voice of total disgust):

"Like Oh my God, this woman just talked to me, and she said she was, like, 30. But I think she was more like FORTY-THREEE! Eeew."

At this point, I was laughing way to hard to tell the first girl that she had a cool dress. I was frightened that my mention of it being retro, or that it reminded me of when I had been in high school might cause them to call me something nasty, like, OMG--thirty-five!!!
