pixiecrinkleYesterday, I got home from work around 5:30, and had a lot of stuff in my hands when I came in the door, including a UPS slip and a lot ofmail. When I got inside, I was apparently so eager to find out what my new gas bill amount was that I shut the door without removing my keys.
This morning, when leaving for work around 8:30, I couldn't find my keys anywhere. Yep, you guessed it, they were still in the door. Now, I live in a fairly safe neighborhood, but my door opens straight onto an alley where some semi-sketchy things go on from time to time. I think I'm really lucky that my keys were still there, that I woke up alone in the house, and that my car was still there (it was parked a mere 6 feet from the door.)
This may not top the time I left my car running, unlocked with the keys inside while it was parked on High Street, but it's pretty darn close. I need to keep my head on straight!
